Every chapter of my book Wind In Your Sails: Vital Strategies That Accelerate Your Entrepreneurial Growth ends with the section Take Action Now. Here are my actions for corporate strategy.
Focusing on the reason you founded your business and where you want to be in ten, three, and one year will lead to long-term success. To make this happen you need to do consistent quarterly planning with measurable goals which will create a high growth, high performing business. Aligning yourself and your culture requires you to identify and write down your key values. Weekly meetings that encourage debate, while coming to agreement about what to be done next, keep everyone in alignment. This is challenging, so use these ideas to get you started.
- Book a day within the next 60 days to take your entire senior management team off site to plan and document your ten, three, and one-year visions and goals.
- Create and stick with a weekly management meeting that focuses on debate about where the business is going and agreement on how you will get there.
- Write down the four or five key corporate values you hold. Every day find one example of how you and your management team are living your core values.
