In my new role as Director of Marketing and Sales for MB Foster Associates Limited, I’ve been reading and writing a lot of presentations. Like many, Microsoft PowerPoint ends up being my tool of choice. I’ve sat through thousands of presentations. Having been bullet pointed near to death, I decided that it was time that my presentations get a boost in style and impact.
After hunting around the web I found the most fantastic resource. The book Presentation Zen by Garr Reynolds. Published in 2008, the information is just as current in 2010. Garr inspires us to “Prepare, Design, and Deliver.” The foreward by Guy Kawasaki is done as a series of inspiring PowerPoint slides (perhaps the only foreward ever written as a slide deck). Any time that I feel like I’m getting boring in my presentations, I open up Presentation Zen to get inspired to create effective presentations.
