Every chapter of my book Wind In Your Sails: Vital Strategies That Accelerate Your Entrepreneurial Growth ends with the section Take Action Now. Here are my actions for your products.
Until you have a product or service, you have nothing to sell. Even small changes in your thinking about your product strategy can have impactful results. How you demonstrate, sell, and deliver your product have an enormous impact on your sales cycle. Customers want a product that is surrounded by everything they need to use it successfully. We call this a whole product. Customers are one of the best sources of feedback on how easy it is to receive and use your product. Follow these suggestions to dramatically improve your products before this quarter finishes:
- Identify one product change that your team can implement in the next 30 days that would speed up the sales process and implement and release that change in the subsequent 60 days.
- Review one of your products this quarter from the “whole product” view and document what is missing to make it perfect for your ideal customer. Share the document with all key stakeholders in your ecosystem and ask them for their feedback.
- Call three new customers in the next week and interview them about their experience of receiving, setting up, and using your product or service.
