Three Ideas for Next-Level Growth

I enjoyed my interview with Brandon Gano on his Harmonious at Lunch Podcast. We both believe in the importance of strategic planning for business growth. In our interview, I emphasized the need for entrepreneurs to step back from the day-to-day operations of their business and think about the bigger picture. I recommend using a one-page strategic plan and holding quarterly planning sessions to set clear goals and track progress. We also discussed the importance of trust within a team and the need to address the biggest challenges facing the business. I reminded listeners that I offer coaching and facilitation services to help entrepreneurs implement these strategies. Listeners are encouraged to take action and implement at least one idea from the episode to accelerate their business growth in the next 90 days.

It Starts With Trust

Everyone around the table looked at each other. There was silence in the room. This was the third time they had met off site as a team to do their strategic planning for the business. Their coach had just asked how they had done on their five goals for the quarter. No one, including the CEO, was willing to own up until Don, one of the young up and coming members of the leadership team, said “we sucked—we didn’t make one of our five goals.”

Trust from the Inside Out

A few years ago, I suffered a torn retina in my left eye that became a detached retina, which was immediately operated on. A side effect of the retina surgery was that a cataract developed in my left lens.

For over a year my vision was impaired. The cataract developed so fast that almost every fifteen days I could tell of negative changes in my vision. As I lost more and more of the vision in my left eye, I was left only being able to see smudges of color.

Time to Respond

I was talking to a friend of mine the other day about his experiences in trying to rent a place for him and his family for summer holidays. He had used a couple of the popular online sites. He had made inquires on several properties and was surprised that even after 24 hours some of his inquiries had never got a response.
