What Drives Your Sales Success Today?

The last ten years has seen a seismic change in the way that prospects find and purchase products and services. Social media, Google, SEM, blogs, white papers, peer reviews, and more have forever changed the way sales people are viewed. For example, in my work with Webtech Wireless, prospects “Googled the snot out of telematics solutions”, believing that they know more than the sales people who are selling to them. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Childhood Inspiration Continues

We were recently in Florida for the American Trucking Association annual conference in Orlando, Florida. After working much of the weekend at the conference, Karalee and I took a day off to explore NASA’s Cape Kennedy. We are both science geeks—after all I asked Karalee out after a Chem 120 lab in our first year at the University of British Columbia.

Positive Every Day

For two years my wife and I lived on a sailboat in the Mediterranean while we home schooled our three children. That adventure gave us a legacy that our family continues to draw from. When we are “stuck” on an issue we can change the tone of the discussion by focusing on the positive, such as when we stayed in the marina in Calvi, Corsica, France, exploring the fabulous village and enjoyed views like the one above.

I was talking to a friend of mine the other day about his experiences in trying to rent a place for him and his family for summer holidays. He had used a couple of the popular online sites. He had made inquires on several properties and was surprised that even after 24 hours some of his inquiries had never got a response.
